Uzbekistan's president, Islam Karimov, has been reported to have suffered a stroke and has been hospitalized. Karimov has been the leader of the country since independence in 1991 and has ruled Uzbekistan as a dictator. It remains unclear who would succeed Karimov if he were to day as there were no clear successors planned.
