Between February and March 2014, the Crimean Peninsula was annexed from Ukraine by the Russian Federation. The move was seen as a hostile takeover by Western powers who have since struggled with how to respond to Russia and how to support the people of Crimea. In this course, you will prepare to read and watch Russian-language media reporting on the annexation of Crimea, learning both foreign policy and military vocabulary.
