Since the outbreak of the Syrian civil war in 2011, the world has been fixated on the plight of the Syrian people and the near-complete destruction of a nation. The civil war has drawn in players from around the world, including Russia, Iran, and the United States, all with competing interests. The war has also redefined humanitarian disasters in our generation. In the second installment of this course, you will learn Arabic vocabulary focused on Syria’s use of chemical weapons, arming the Kurds, and Israel and Iran engaging each other in Syria.
