Officials in Novosibirsk have approved the installation of a bust of Josef Stalin on the grounds of the Communist Party's regional office in the city. The bust is scheduled to be unveiled on May 9, which is celebrated in Russia as Victory Day to mark the end of the Second World War. The decision was viewed as a compromise from city officials in that party members will be allowed to move forward with their plans to install the bust but it will not be on display in a public space.
