January 6 marks the day with followers of the Russian Orthodox Church celebrate Christmas. In Moscow, the main Christmas service was led by Patriarch Kirill and attended by Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev. Kirill's Christmas message was then read in all Orthodox services held throughout the country.
