On October 3, BBC Arabic reported that the Iraqi Parliament interrogated the Defense Minister Khalid al-Obaidi on corruption charges in a secret session. The decision to interrogate the minister was decided with the approval of 200 representatives and followed large protests in Baghdad and several other cities against rampant corruption.
