The IDF is the Middle East’s most dominant military force and a rite of passage for Israeli citizens, most of whom are conscripted into mandatory military service at the age of 18. While Israeli society can split upon political and economic lines, the military is the one unifying factor that all Israelis can identify with. In this course, you’ll prepare to read and watch Hebrew media on this cornerstone institution of Israeli society. The lessons for this course cover an operation to destroy a Syrian nuclear reactor, becoming a paratrooper and a tank commander, life in the Nahal brigade, and becoming a female fighter pilot.
