US, Russia agree to extend Syria ceasefire

On September 14, the US and Russia agreed to extend the ceasefire in Syria two additional days to allow for the arrival of humanitarian aid to besieged areas. According to a US State Department source, the ceasefire was holding for the most part, despite reports of sporadic violations, and that violence in Syria had gone down dramatically.
