A new law passed in Ukraine strongly resembled similar laws that were passed in the Baltic States after the fall of the Soviet Union. On Monday, Petro Poroshenko signed a law that focuses on the "de-communization" of Ukraine. Among other goals, the law aims to "change" or "update" Ukrainian history by changing street names like "Leninskii Prospekt." In addition, there are some restriction on the display of communist or nationalist (Nazi) symbols.
