Thousands Gather in Chisinau in Support of Unification with Romania
Lesson Brief
Deutsche Welle (Russian)
The situation in the former Soviet republic of Moldova got more complicated this weekend when thousands of people gathered in the capital Chisinau in support of Moldovan unification with Romania. Moldova and Romania share a common history and common language, despite that fact that many Moldovans also speak Russian as a native language from the Soviet times.
