The Red Sea Bridge

On April 8, Galei Zahal reported that Egypt and Saudi Arabia announced plans to partner on a Red Sea bridge connecting the two countries. The bridge proejct is expected to boost the Egyptian economy by strengthening commercial relations with Saudi Arabia, which has grown closer to Egypt since the ouster of Mohamed Morsi. The agreement to construct the bridge came about during Saudi King Salman's visit to Egypt. The plan was originally abandoned in 2005 under the government of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.
