Earlier this month, it was reported that a resident of Rehavia, Israel was stung by the poisonous Mediterranean Recluse Spider, which is common in the Middle East. The spider's venom was dispersed through the man's body through his lymphatic system, spreading from his shoulder to his chest. After noticing the discoloration on his skin and discomfort, the man sought help at a local medical center, which gave him antibiotics to treat reduce the swelling.
