Washington was shaken by an incident involving a lone shooter in the U.S. Capitol Visitors Center yesterday afternoon. The shooter appeared to draw his weapon, at which time he was shot by Capitol police and taken to a local hospital. The shooter did not make it past the building's security checkpoint, but that did not keep the entire Capitol complex from entering lock-down for part of the afternoon.
