Sergei Kovalev, Human Rights Activist

Sergei Kovalev is a famous Soviet/Russian human rights activist and Soviet dissident. He was jailed during the Soviet times and served time in labor camps in Perm and Kolyma. After 1991 Kovalev documented human rights abuses during the Chechen War and has been a vocal supporter of the opposition movement in Russia. Note, that this is not boxer who defended his title on Saturday night. -Be prepared for words that are more academic and intellectual in this article. The video is from Latvian TV in 2012 during the run-up to the Russian presidential elections. Kovalev shares his opinions in Riga.
