Saddam’s Palaces in Kurdistan
Lesson Brief
Al Arabiya
On September 17, Al Arabiya reported that the government in Iraqi Kurdistan was converting what remained of Saddam Hussein's palaces in the region to tourist attractions in an effort to reinvigorate the tourist economy. Many of the palaces are in disrepair but have withstood the elements and the American invasion of Iraq. The article of this set is a near-transcript of the attached video.
