Russian Performance Artist Released from Jail

Pyotr Pavlensky, the Russian performance artist known for his daring displays of defiance against the Russian government, has been released from prison for setting fire to the doors of the FSB headquarters in Moscow in late 2015. Pavlensky has been fined 500,000 rubles for damaging a building of cultural significance but will face no more jail time. Pavlensky, however, has stated he has no intention to pay the fine.
