Reports of Death of ISIS’ No. 2

Lesson Brief BBC Arabic
On May 13, BBC Arabic reported on recent claims that ISIS' second in command has been taken out in a coalition air strike. According to an initial report by Iraq's semi-official Al Iraqiyia, Abdurrahman Mustafa Muhammad was killed while attending a meeting at a mosque in Talaafar, Iraq. The reports were not officially confirmed by the US and Iraqi governments. He was one of several members of the organization killed in multiple airstrikes carried out throughout Iraq and Syria on Wednesday. Last week, the US offered a USD 7 million reward for information on Muhammad's location.
