Rare Inscription of Biblical Name Found in Israel

Lesson Brief Ynet
Earlier this month, Israeli news outlets reported that Israeli archaeologists had pieced together a 3,000 year old clay pot that contained a rare Canaanite inscription, which bore a biblical name that was reportedly in use during the reign of King David. The deciphering of the artifact sheds light on the cultural and linguistic development of Canaanite and Israelite society 3,000 years ago and many Israeli archaeologists point to the artifact as evidence of a functioning bureaucracy during the time that King David is believed to have reigned. Some of the key Hebrew vocabulary words from this set are: כתובת - inscription כד חרס - clay pot פענוח  - decoding, deciphering חפירות - excavations
