Protests in Morocco continue after fisherman crushed to death in garbage truck

Lesson Brief BBC Arabic
On November 1, BBC Arabic reported that Moroccan authorities had arrested 11 people in connection with the death of a fish seller who was crushed by a garbage truck. According to initial reports, the man, Mouhcine Fikri died on Friday after climbing into the garbage truck to retrieve 500 kg of swordfish, which were allegedly confiscated and thrown away by the police because fishing swordfish is banned during this time of year. The image of the man crushed in the truck spread quickly over social media and the country has been experiencing massive protests, the likes of which have not been seen since the Arab Spring.
