Possible Benefit from the Devaluation of the Shekel
Lesson Brief
Calcalist
On January 12th, Calcalist reported on the Bank of Israel's identification of the first signs that the devaluation of the NIS (New Israeli Shekel) to the American dollar may have a positive influence on Israeli exports. Although the members of the monetary committee expressed concern for the rising housing prices, the stock of unsold apartments is likely to stop the trend of such devaluation. Some factors that contributed to the lowering of prices occurred outside of the economy, such as the reduction of crude oil prices and the lowering of prices in Europe.
