Nine years since its launch, the NASA space probe New Horizons has sent back to Earth the first close-up images of Pluto. One of the more remarkable discoveries from the new images is the existence of ice mountains on the dwarf planet. The probe has covered a distance of over 6 billion kilometers over the last nine years and was traveling 14 km/second when passing by Pluto.
