Netanyahu Takes Stance Against Palestinian State during Elections

Lesson Brief NRG
On March 16th, the day before Israeli elections, Netanyahu gave a special interview with NRG. He stated outright that with him as the head of the state a Palestinian state will not be established, and any such plan gives territory from which radical Islam can attack Israel. Furthermore, he said that the government the government fell apart which resulted in the elections, and it was not his doing. Regarding building in Jerusalem and the West Bank, he said that Israel continues to build and that a strong national government with Likud at its head will push off the pressures of the international community. This article uses important words concerning Netanyahu's platform, of which he released a couple of days before the actual elections. Adjectives like אדיר and בכיר ("tremendous" and "great" respectively) are common and useful for powerful images. Additionally, he references the development of the Negev, a Ben-Gurion dream, in his use of "להפריח את הנגב" - "to make the desert bloom". The article also uses an Arabic word that's been adopted into Hebrew כביר, which means enormous, big, or large.
