The city government of Moscow has announced a plan to rid the city of its remaining "khruschevki", the unattractive and run-down apartment blocks which have housed millions since the Soviet times. There are still more than 1 million Muskovites living in these buildings, so the process of relocating and demolition will still last for some time.
