April 12th, traditionally known as Cosmonaut Day in Russia, marked 55 years since Soviet astronaut Yuri Gagarin became the first man to travel into space. To commemorate the occasion, events and exhibits celebrating Russia's space program and Gagarin's singular achievement could be found throughout Moscow.
