Lebanese Real Estate Owners Upset about New Law Suspension
Lesson Brief
As Safir
Lebanese real estate owners and landlords are upset that implementation of a new rent-control law has been frozen by Speaker Nabih Berri. While property owners are upset about the freeze, renters and other tenants appear to be satisfied with the decision. On December 10, parliament had initially passed a law that would allow landlords to nullify certain long-standing rental agreements.
