Latvia’s “President with an Accent:” Raimonds Vejonis

Lesson Brief Lenta.ru
Unlike many leaders in the Baltic States and former eastern bloc, Latvian president, Raimonds Vejonis, has no problem speaking Russian  to Russian language journalists. Despite the fact that he speaks Russian with a distinct, Baltic accent, he is keen to reach out to Russian-speaking Latvians (and non-citizens) and express his views about Russian adventurism into the former-Soviet space and his push to prevent any type of "little green men" situation in Latvia.
