Kazakhstan Will Switch to the Latin Alphabet by 2025

Lesson Brief 365info.kz
The Kazakh government has decided to phase out the use of the Cyrillic alphabet by 2025. The Cyrillic script for the Kazakh language was adopted during the Soviet times; however, the language has been written in Latin and Arabic alphabets as well. Thus far, opinions are mixed, but most of those supporting the decision feel that it will make Kazakhstan more independent and disconnect it from its Soviet past.
