Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has found himself in a scandal after voicing his approval of the marriage of his friend, an already married police chief, to a 17-year old minor against the young girl's will. National media caught wind of this and began to cover the story. In response to the media coverage, Kadyrov was upset, stating that it was the working of liberals fighting to work against him who had caused a scandal out of nothing. Chechen authorities later announced that the wedding never happened.
