Israeli windsurfing delegation unable to compete in world championships
Lesson Brief
NRG
On October 15, Ynet reported than an Israeli windsurfing delegation gave up any hope of competing in the windsurfing world championships in Oman. The Israeli Shin Bet originally claimed that the security risks to the Israeli athletes were too great, which led to the cancellation of their visas. However, the Shin Bet later changed its mind, but the championship organizers claimed there was nothing that could be done about the cancelled visas. The attached video is a profile and interview with one of the more prominent Israeli windsurfers, Shahar Zubari.
