Israeli doctors in solidarity against violence
Lesson Brief
Ynet
On July 14, Ynet reported that Israeli doctors protested in solidarity with an Arab doctor who was attacked by a patient's father, apparently for racist reasons. The patient's father apparently attacked the doctor after his son was treated for a back condition, and shouted racist slurs at him during the assault. The doctor alerted hospital security and the police, who took the man in for questioning and issued a restraining order, a punishment that the doctors saw as much too lenient.
