Iraq: ISIS Trading in Human Organs

Lesson Brief Alaan TV
Yet more gruesome accusations of brutality have surfaced against ISIS. On February 18, Iraqi Ambassador to the UN Mohammed al-Hakim declared that recent evidence indicates that ISIS is using the human organ trade to fund its operations in Syria and Iraq. Hakim claimed that mass graves in areas once controlled by ISIS have contained bodies with incisions in their backs and various organs, such as kidneys and livers, strewn about. In addition, Hakim claimed that doctors once working with ISIS witnessed the execution of doctors who refused to participate in the surgical operations. Human organ trade remains a profitable black market enterprise with parts ranging in price in Europe from the hundreds to the thousands of Euros.
