Holes in the Sarcophagus
Lesson Brief
Радио Свобода
This year is the 29th anniversary of the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Despite the disaster happening in 1986, the power plant itself and the zone around it are still highly radioactive. Currently, there is a project going on to rebuild the "arch" sarcophagus around the power plant to protect against more radioactive dust escaping into the atmosphere.
-This is a moderately-difficulty article because of the vocabulary related specifically to nuclear radiation and the Chernobyl disaster.
