Fitch Downgrades Russia’s Credit Rating

Lesson Brief Gazeta.ru
International ratings agency, Fitch, downgraded Russia's long-term credit rating to BBB- over the weekend. Fitch stated that the drop in oil prices, Western sanctions over Crimea and Eastern Ukraine, and the drop in the strength of the ruble led to the downgrade of the Russia's rating. This drop puts Russia's investment rating equal to that of countries such as Bulgaria, Romania, India, and Azerbaijan.
