Extremists Execute Accused Adulterers and Homosexuals in Syria

On January 14, An Nahar and AFP, citing information from the Syrian Human Rights Observatory, reported that extremist groups in Syria such as Nusra Front and ISIS have executed 14 people on accusations of adultery and homosexuality over the past year; seven women were killed for adultery, and seven men for for adultery and homosexuality. Stoning has been the most common penalty. The same report said that ISIS has executed 2000 people for other "crimes" during the same time.
