Everest Practically Inaccessible because of Earthquake in Nepal

For a second year in a row, ascents to the peak of Everest have been canceled. Following the earthquake in Nepal last week, the Nepalese government has closed the mountain because of the risk of avalanches. Taking advice from local sherpas, the government decided that the risk was too great to allow tour companies to continue running trips this year.
