Druze Soldier Attacked for Speaking Arabic

Lesson Brief Ynet
On February 7, Ynet reported on the hospitalization of a Druze soldier from the Israeli Golani brigade. A group of Jewish youth fought with the soldier and his friends in a club, because the soldier was speaking Arabic. Although both groups were thrown out of the club, the fight continued in the parking lot whereupon the soldier's jaw was fractured and a window broken. A similar incident occurred two weeks ago. The Coalition Against Racism in Israel requested that candidates in the upcoming elections use this incident to express their unequivocal stance against racism.
