Cairo’s River Taxi Project

In March 2016, the Egyptian government began officially supporting Cairo's river taxis in an effort to reduce the chronic traffic congestion in Cairo. The taxis, which run on the Nile, are equipped with safety and security equipment, and the Egyptian government has plans to develop additional river taxi stations to encourage people to consider them as an alternative means of transportation.
