Alternative Routes to Europe? Transit Migrants Use the “South Stream” through Russia

While the migrant crisis in southern Europe continues, Russia is having its own issues with refugees on its northern borders with Norway and Finland. Refugees from war-torn countries like Syria and Afghanistan are trying to get to Scandinavia via Russia, and it is putting the Russian government in a tough position. Finland is expelling refugees this year and refusing to take more, therefore leaving them stuck on the Russian border.
