Almost a Coalition
Lesson Brief
Calcalist
On May 4th, Calcalist reported on the coalition that Prime Minister Netanyahu has formed under the permission of President Rivlin. The 61 seat coalition is one of the smallest Israel's parliament has seen and hinges on the Jewish Home party signing on. This is a result of the Israel is Our Home party, headed by Avigdor Lieberman, declining to sign on with Netanyahu as the prime minister and has moved over to the opposition.
This article provides a nice review of Israeli political terms and some nuance in the Israeli political arena.
